A fuel crisis has gripped Primorsky Krai, where car owners are storming gas stations despite high prices. The region is experiencing a shortage of gasoline, especially the popular AI-95, and diesel fuel.
Queues and shortages
Many petrol stations have signs saying "Sorry, maintenance", and drivers stand in hour-long queues, often leaving without fuel. The situation is especially difficult in the cities of Bolshoy Kamen and Vladivostok, where people spend up to four hours in queues.
- At the Oktant gas station in Vladivostok, a liter of AI-95 costs 83.57 rubles, and a liter of AI-92 costs 78.57 rubles.
- In Ussuriysk, prices are even higher: diesel - 75.27 rubles, AI-92 - 73.97 rubles, AI-95 - 79.57 rubles.
Causes of the crisis
The Primorye authorities explain the fuel shortage by the increased tourist flow and traffic jams. Primorye Energy Minister Elena Shish admitted that the tourist flow in the region has increased by 30% compared to August 2024.
However, residents of the region do not agree with this version, noting that queues are observed even in places where there are no tourists. In addition, there were years with no less hot weather, but without fuel crises.
The situation at independent petrol stations
At independent petrol stations, the queues are shorter, but the prices are significantly higher. Some petrol stations limit the sale of petrol or sell fuel only for cash.
There are about 295 gas stations in Primorye, 130 of which belong to NNK-Primornefteproduct. However, even at these gas stations, prices have increased, and there is a shortage of fuel.
Prospects
The authorities promise that petrol reserves at petrol stations will last for several days, and fuel is delivered regularly. However, residents of the region fear further price increases and fuel shortages.
The situation with the fuel crisis in Primorye remains tense, and there is no clear solution to the problem yet.
