Jeep Cherokee returns with a new generation
Jeep has released official photos and a teaser video of the sixth-generation Jeep Cherokee crossover. The new model retains the Cherokee name, despite earlier reports that it might drop the name.
Design and Features
The new Jeep Cherokee has a traditional look, becoming more brutal and off-road. The crossover has acquired a "square" body, an impressive front bumper and headlights of a more strict shape. There are signature slits on the Cherokee radiator grille.
Technical specifications
Stellantis reported that the crossover will be offered with a "new, efficient and powerful" hybrid powertrain. Details about the technology and platform have not yet been disclosed. According to foreign media, the Jeep Cherokee may be built on the STLA Large or STLA Medium platform.
Premiere and positioning
The new generation crossover will premiere at the end of the year. In the brand's range, it will occupy a niche between the Compass and the Grand Cherokee. Stellantis promised a "competitive price."
History of the model
- The previous Jeep Cherokee with the KL index debuted in 2013.
- The model underwent a restyling in 2017, during which it received conventional headlights.
- Production of the fifth-generation Jeep Cherokee was discontinued in 2023.
The new Jeep Cherokee promises to be an interesting player in the crossover market. All that remains is to wait for the official premiere and learn more about the specifications and prices.
