Season Eleven: The Turning Point
The eleventh season of "Cop Wars" became a turning point. The main character, Roman Shilov, finally changes from a "street cop" into an influential political player. He no longer just fights criminals, but confronts the law enforcement system itself. And this step in the finale turned into serious problems.
What happened in the finale?
After a series of high-profile cases, including the double murder of an official and his wife, Shilov understands that most of the crimes are committed by high-ranking people covered by generals. Investigating the machinations at Lenspirt and uncovering the links between the murders and politics, he faces increasingly active pressure from above. General Nikulin plays a double game - promising a reward and at the same time instructing him to collect dirt on Shilov.
When the hero has a witness who can shed light on the corruption, the ending becomes obvious. In the final scene, a grenade launcher is fired into the windows of his apartment. The audience is not shown whether the hero is alive, leaving it open - perhaps as a hook for a sequel or as a device for an open ending.
What does it mean?
Fans of the series are divided into two camps. The first believe that Shilov died - the hero met a tragic end, like many who fight corruption. Others are sure that the experienced operative survived, because he was aware of the threat and probably insured himself. So a continuation of the story is quite possible.
Will the story continue?
The answer to this question was given by Alexander Ustyugov himself, who played Shilov. Having long been tired of the image of the hero-cop, he did not rule out the possibility of returning to the project.
