The RFU Executive Committee is awaiting a decision on replacing Khimki in the RPL
Moscow Region's Khimki are leaving the Russian Premier League (RPL). Their place will be taken by another club, and the decision on replacement will be made at the next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU). The opinion of the Premier League and the First League will also be taken into account.
According to the approved RFU regulations, clubs that played in the RPL last season have an advantage over teams from the First League. It is expected that the RFU executive committee or bureau of the RFU executive committee will make a final decision on the change, although the date of the meeting has not yet been set.
Khimki's appeal rejected
Let us recall that earlier the RFU rejected Khimki's appeal against the refusal to issue a license to participate in the next season of the RPL. Khimki took 12th place in the WORLD RPL standings at the end of the 2024/25 season, scoring 29 points.
