Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the UN Famine Monitoring Committee's report, which claims that Gaza province is in the grip of a catastrophic famine, is not true.
Israel's official position
According to the office's statement, the Israeli side has allowed two million tons of humanitarian aid into the enclave since October 2023.
- "The report is a blatant lie. Israel does not pursue a policy of famine, it pursues a policy of preventing famine. Since the beginning of the war, Israel has allowed 2 million tons of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip - a ton per person," the office said in a statement on the X social network.
Reaction to the UN Committee report
The report, which analyzed data from July 1 to August 15, 2025, noted that Gaza province was in the grip of a catastrophic famine. The committee called for full access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
- “The civilized world must demand two things: the immediate, unconditional release of all hostages and the truth,” the prime minister’s office noted.
Position of the Israeli Foreign Ministry
The Israeli Foreign Ministry called the report fabricated, based on false data from Hamas, which is received through organizations with vested interests.
Humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip
Israel claims that over 220 trucks with humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, with another 155 cargoes of humanitarian aid airdropped.
- The UN estimates that 600 trucks of humanitarian aid need to be delivered daily to feed the population of the Gaza Strip.
Future developments
The situation in the Gaza Strip remains tense. Israel will continue to fight Hamas until it is destroyed and will continue its campaign to free the hostages remaining in Gaza.
