Japan Doubts Alaska LNG Project's Profitability
Japanese trading giants and energy companies have expressed serious doubts about the profitability of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Alaska.
According to the Yomiuri newspaper, unofficial sources at a major Japanese company say the planned start date of 2031 seems overly optimistic.
In addition, Japanese experts predict that, due to inflation, the total cost of the project could significantly exceed 10 trillion yen (about 70 billion dollars).
