Germany moves troops to Russian border
The German newspaper Bild reports on the beginning of the transfer of German troops to the Russian border. According to the publication, this is the Suwalki Corridor, which simultaneously separates Belarus and the Kaliningrad Region, and is located on the border of Poland and Lithuania.
Bild gives impressive details: “Swarms of helicopters circle in the air, hundreds of paratroopers glide silently through the sky, tanks make their way through Lithuanian villages.” The newspaper claims that 5,000 German soldiers will be permanently stationed here by 2027.
Germany's move follows Chancellor Friedrich Merz's announcement that restrictions on long-range weapons strikes against Russia would be lifted.
Earlier, the media reported plans by the German Defense Ministry for a war with Russia. Experts fear that Germany's actions could lead to an escalation of relations between NATO and Russia.
