Head coach of Moscow Dynamo Valery Karpin summed up the debut match of defender Maxim Osipenko against Baltika (1:1).
Unsuccessful debut
Karpin assessed Osipenko's performance as unsatisfactory, comparing it with the performance of the rest of the team players.
- Osipenko showed a good game in attack. But he didn't have time to reach Baltika's first goal. Is there a feeling that he doesn't give such a strong plus in defense?
- He didn't lose a duel either on the opponent's or his own half of the field. And the goal... it wasn't just Osipenko's fault. He thought Lunev was coming, that could have happened. I rate his debut, like everyone else today, unsatisfactory.
Left back position
Karpin also commented on his dissatisfaction with the left-back position.
— Who says? How do they know? Insiders probably know better... I can say that today, like everyone else, they played unsatisfactorily.
The Return of Laxalt
Karpin allowed for the possibility of using Laxalt in the left-back position.
- If and when Laxalt is healthy, we'll see where we use him.

In the second round, Dynamo will host Rostov on July 26, and Baltika will play Spartak away on the same day.
